Getting your results for Life in the UK Test

After you have finished taking your Life in the UK Test, you will be then guided by your test supervisor to a room where you can wait for your test results. It usually takes 10-30 minutes before the test supervisor checks your test and announces your result in the test.

After 10 minutes or so, you will be notified by the test supervisor if you have passed or failed the test. If you passed the test, you are given a certificate that you have passed the test, and a unique ID number. These documents must be presented to the Home Office for you to be able to apply for a British citizenship or an Indefinite Leave to Remain. If you failed the test, however, you are not given any documents and should you wish to retry, you can do so after at least 7 days.
